SBJB 324
When playing football? I certainly notice a lot that do when watching it on TV.
Guest MichaelLeeBond
well when your playing footie your junk moves around loads so better to have them in briefs
Lee249 18,054
Well that's a very good question. I think most of the pros wear briefs but the less experienced younger players wear their own underwear. Are these white designer boxerbriefs or briefs? Looks like boxerbriefs to me
afutoclo 1,254
Some also wear boxerbriefs (usually very colourful :-D) like Remy Cabella, Florian Thauvin or Antoine Griezmann

Guest
I think it can be difficult to tell sometimes as modern football shorts seem to be longer than some compression shorts but I certainly like the look of compression shorts on footballers when you can see them, I think it's very sexy (perhaps not on Wayne Rooney lol) Cristiano Ronaldo & Gareth Bale -random web finds - Click here and check out a site called Brief Lines which is dedicated to showing pics of sports personalities underwear. It's quite revealing haha Here are just a few from footballer Fernando Torres' page who obviously likes to play in briefs

flameboard 9,743
Really? can't see this after a quick look at the regulations.I have never heard this either. Got a mate thats a ref so could ask him but to me thats not really as so many of them wear boxerbriefs even in the pics above showing Antivol boxers etc.
Lee249 18,054
I don't think it's a regulation sounds too daft just like for instance, saying a goalkeeper can't wear gloves. Ludicrous.
SaggermanJ 93
Du think they wear briefs wen they rnt playing?
Guest
Du think they wear briefs wen they rnt playing? I'm sure it varies from player to player according to individual taste and comfort when choosing underwear. Cristiano Ronaldo appears to prefer to wear briefs on the pitch (based on web pic finds) but has mostly been snapped wearing boxer briefs when not at work playing football or modelling underwear for Emporio Armani. Interestingly, his choice in swimwear is not the skimpy brief variety either. WORK PLAY Cristiano Ronaldo launched his own range of underwear towards the end of last year, click here for the link to the CR7 Underwear shop

Guest
are they always briefs you can see through the shorts or are some of them those inner liners some shorts have? If I buy shorts with those in, I cut them out before I wear them. Maybe. Football shorts are available with or without the liner (also known as an inner brief or slip or mesh gusset) so it's a choice and some well known brands make both varieties. Nike offer their Dri Fit Park Knit Football Shorts in lined & unlined types. I know Umbro and Puma also make both types for football but I think adidas only put the lining in childrens sizes as I have never seen it in senior / adult football shorts. Lots of other brands make football shorts and some of them also make shorts that are marketed as 'training' or 'leisure' shorts, aimed I guess at those wanting a multi purpose short perhaps for football, gym, jogging, swimming, sagging lol. Choice is a good thing and as you say, the liner can be removed when found in a short you like but would prefer to wear unlined.
