  1. I'm 30, so I guess I'm stuck in the middle between "young" and "old." I came out when I was 19 (spring 2001) and became sexually active around the same time. At the time, a guy who was 25 was "an older guy" in my mind and someone over 30 was ancient. Some of my friends (around my own age) like guys in their 40s and I just didn't get it. As I got older, my age limits expanded. Right now, I'd say my ideal age range is 20 to "looks 40" (i.e., I'd hook up with a 60 year old if he actually looked to be about 40 or younger, but won't hook up with an old-looking 38 year old). The one thing I've noticed that makes no sense at all to me is that the older I get, the younger the guys interested in me get. I think this may have something to do with my level of confidence--I was fairly shy when I was 19--and now that I know I shouldn't reasonably stand a chance with a hot college boy, they seem to flock to me (I think the confidence thing also explains why it's hard to find a guy when you're single, but as soon as you get in a relationship you have to beat the men away with a stick). Of course, this could also have something to do with the fact that I can afford nicer clothes than when I was 19, I have my own house and don't have to plan things around roommates being home, and have a Mercedes convertible that probably screams "Splenda Uncle" (a younger, less-well-off sugar daddy in local gay slang). My reference point for "old" is now 50, but I'm sure that'll probably go up as a get older, and my ideal age range will probably remain 10-up/10-down (of course I sure as hell won't turn down a college-aged boy when I'm 60, as long as he's actually into me and isn't expecting a sugar daddy...)
