You can choose your sexual activity but you can't choose your sexuality! If you prefer boys, girls or both thats how you are born (or developed in your early childhood but you have no influene on it) and indeed it's your choise to bring your preference in practice

Gay, straight, bi, you are born with it. It is that at some age you get noticed of it and then you think: omg i become gay, but that is incorrect. You are gay but you become aware of it.

I think the confusion here is the use of the term "gay" when what you mostly mean is "homosexual". They aren't the same thing.

People are born with varying degrees of homosexual tendencies. That's what the Kinsey scale measures. The study also found that most people aren't at one end or the other (i.e. no homosexual tendencies or only homosexual tendencies). They're somewhere in the middle. This is no different to finding you're attracted to people because of other attributes like a certain hair colour or physique. It's there, but you don't really know where it comes from, and it can change slightly over time.

Acting on attraction and identifying a certain way are separate things. Ancient Greeks had homosexual sex, but they didn't identify as "gay". That's a 20th century invention which is more of a branding exercise than anything else, tied in with the push for civil rights, which in turn was a reaction to those rights becoming more formally restricted in the 19th and early 20th century.  We all know you can have sex without attraction. Prostitution is the oldest trade in the world. There are plenty of examples of male bonding which could be interpreted as homosexual sex in other contexts.

I think the key thing is not to stigmatise people for their sexual behaviour (within reason). That isn't really helped by the defeatist argument of "I was born like this. I can't help it.", because, just as some would like to "cure" people of a learned behaviour psychologically, they'd also want to "cure" them in a biological way if that was a determined cause. The real fight is against conservative people forcing everyone to conform to what they believe someone's sex life should be like, and that's as true of queers who slut shame people as it is of straight people who are openly homophobic.

I wear speedos, but then I swim lengths and baggy shorts just cause unnecessary drag. I can't even imagine the additional weight of having underwear on in there too, plus doesn't that also create unnecessary washing? I'm in the pool 90% of the time so what it looks like doesn't matter that much, and if someone really wants to oggle or get offended, that's their problem. I do agree it can make things quite restrictive down there... However, that's a benefit when you're swimming as it keeps everything in place, and I just get them off as quickly as possible when I'm done

For more laid-back swimming, I'd prefer skinny dipping... but opportunities for that are limited. I'm not a sun-chaser - I burn too easily - so hanging around at the pool side isn't really something I do.

On the hygiene front, what bothers me more than what people wear in the pool is the fact that often don't seem to shower afterwards... and I don't count showering with all your swimming stuff still on. That defeats the point. Guys, wash your junk. It's not gonna kill you if some other guy sees it.

I remember watching that final season too. I started mid-way through season 4, I think, then watched the first seasons from the repeats. I have memories of watching it first thing in the morning, so must have recorded them as I doubt that's when they were broadcast!
