I've been in a similar situation to you.  I was 14 - 16 and this guy in my class found out I'm gay and wouldn't stop pestering me.  He would call me names, move my books so I would make scribbles over my notes, and then he would have no qualms about invading my personal space.  I couldn't do anything because he threatened to out me to everyone.  It got so bad my grades were affected.  I was lucky because I had supportive mates.  Anyways, I told a teacher, whom I trusted, everything.  She was awesome about the whole situation and dealt with it promptly.  He ended up leaving school about 6 months later.

I don't know what your home / school situation is like.  I was fortunate in the fact that NZ is very tolerant of homosexuality, and my school had a very strict bullying policy.

Possibly I think you should talk to your good mate and see what they say, or maybe talk to a youth guidance counsellor.
