The only thing I'd add to that is to say Calvin Klein is the most popular by far, like 95 percent. Everyone just shows a CK waistband. It used to be Bonds, 10-15 years ago every single dude would be flexing Bonds, during high school it had to be Bonds only, but idk Bonds just died overnight and then Calvins replaced it.

I actually still mostly see Bonds

For sure. Rarely see it though - occasionally sure, especially at raves and techno events. Honestly, i'm just happy to walk into a club and see a dozen CK waistbands being flexed. I guess that's what counts as sagging in 2024, and hey it's better than nothing, and pretty common at least.

do you think aussiebum is too weird to be wearing in public?

Yeah I get it. I was in high school around then and I sagged to fit in with everyone. Bonds undies were the cool thing back then, you had to flex them or you'd be the odd one out. I also only owned skinny jeans back and I'll admit I had some decent proper sags, one that stands out is a school excursion to the zoo where the zoo worker came up to me and said my jeans were "ridiculously low" and that I should pull them up. That would have been say 2012, and since then I guess the trend has gradually died. Flexing your Calvins is still cool, but jeans super low seems dead. Sad.

prob doesnt need to be that low. even around mid ass would still be good to see.

That's right! It's common to show off the waistband/brand, but very rare to see more than that. It was different 10-15 years ago, you'd see some jeans belted under arses back then haha

Pretty sad that I didnt sag much during that era.

Yeah. I'm in Australia most of the year and the only "sags" i ever see are dudes flexing a few cms of Calvins, or the occasional Ethika/Tommy Hilfiger. That's pretty normal, I see it every week at the raves and clubs. I feel like that's kinda just become the default tho.

I am in Aus as well, I rarely see people shows more the thye underwear band.

Soz, cropping this cos its someone I know, but this is literally at a Dutch festival and exactly what I'm talking about. Always seems to be the same kinda shorts too haha

And for the last 10 years or so thats pretty much where my belt goes too, enough to show the CKs but not enough to hobble you at all. Gotta adjust every now and again tho to make sure the CKs are still in full view. At festivals I always see guys doing that as they're leaving the portable toilets, carefully manoeuvring their belt to make sure they've got that lil bit of CK drip.

A speedo under board sports sounds terrible tbh

I do that as well. Also got a pair of camo speedo from aussiebum recently. I dont think its uncomfortable. It stops sand from getting stuck and its quick dry as well. Also you can wear you boardshorts lower. Just a different style I guess.
